- Bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University in Madrid (1987), specialized in Anatomic Pathology (1993) and PhD from the Autonomous University in Barcelona (2009).

- Senior Consultant Histopathologist in Vall d´Hebron University Hospitals (2004-2012). Lead histopathologist of the Spanish group of interstitial lung diseases (National interstitial lung diseases guidelines, histopathology section), and the Spanish group of lung cancer (Oncoguide),

- Senior Consultant Histopathologist in cardiothoracic and transplant Pathology at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust Foundation, London and Honorary Senior lecturer in Imperial College. Research lead in charge of the Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit, tissue biobank and research groups from the Imperial College of London.

- Currently, I am working at Manchester University Hospital as Cardiothoracic Consultant Histopathologist.
