Dear Colleagues,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you in Cascais, in October 11th and 12th, 2019 on the occasion of the Interstitial Lung Disease Multidisciplinary Meeting 2019.
Despite important advances, ILDs are still a highly demanding field, often involved in a complex diagnostic process, with expanding classification and continuous upgrading on diagnostic approaches and therapeutic options. Awareness of the difficulties of the diagnosis of ILD, and how to overcome them, allows earlier and accurate diagnosis, therapy optimization and prognostic improvement.
The objective is to present an overview of the field of Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) with a multidisciplinary focus appealing to several specialties, including radiologists, pneumologists, thoracic surgeons, internal medicine doctors, pathological anatomy and radiographers.
Special emphasis will be given to imaging, reviewing basic anatomy, technical concepts and pattern approach to computed tomography in ILD, but also to the clinical aspects of these diseases, and new management approaches from the respiratory and surgical teams.
One of our major goals is to promote an interdisciplinary ILD board panel discussion, with recognized specialists reviewing different clinical cases to promote advanced learning for the audience. Furthermore, dedicated sessions in smaller groups with hands-on training by experts in the ILD field will also be organized during the congress.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the ever-challenging topic of ILD, in the historical setting of the former Royal House of the last king of Italy - Humberto II, and get acquaintance with the unforgettable and romantic village of Cascais, set in the beautiful western coast of Portugal.
We are looking forward to hosting you in Cascais this October!
